Lunar Crossing

from $40.00

A modern artistic approach to street photography with a twist. Street photography is a genre of photography conducted for art that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places. Seeing surfers cross Kalākaua Ave. is an iconic scene, because it’s the last street you cross before surfing in Waikiki. But have you ever seen an astronaut going to surf in Hawai’i?

This is a part of the To The Moon photo series inspired by Connor’s love for space and surf. It was shot when Crypto was booming and Elon Musk & Jeff Bezos announced their ambitions for space exploration. It felt like everyone was going to the moon, but how could we leave surfing behind? Shot in Waikiki Beach, on Oahu Hawai’i, featuring Johnny Van-Hohenstein in the astronaut suit.
